Hooray!

Andy is in from Toronto on business and staying downtown for the next two weeks. We've decided to go out to dinner next Thursday. Yay! I'm so excited. Plus I'm taking the GMAT one week from today, so that will be a great night for me since the pressure will be off. Stupid GMAT. I'm trying not to psych myself out. I need to play up my strengths i.e. reading comp, critical reasoning, sentence correction instead of harping over the math strategies that still cause me to stumble. Play up the strengths, boost the overall score.

As I left my apartment today I saw a girl in the elevator who called out "Want me to save it for you?" I was secretly thrilled. I've been dying to meet people who live on my floor. Her name is Alex, and she lives almost directly across from the elevator. She listens to WBBM News Radio every morning, and is the only person on the block who has Halloween decor on her door. Of course I wanted to know who this person was. She and I introduced ourselves and chit chatted all the way out to the street. I acted all nonchalant but I wanted to be like "Oh! a friend! Come over and hang out with me!"

Yeah. Why is it so hard to make friends in my building? If there ever are people in sight, they usually go about their merry way and do not exchange any formalities. Hmm. A bit disappointing.

However speaking on a high note, I put on my super soft flannel sheets last night and had quite possibly the best night of sleep in my new place. I never am in a dead sleep up until my alarm goes off, but I was today. My alarm sounded and I shot up in bed, a bit disoriented and confused, and mid-dream mind you. It felt fantastic. If only I could sleep that soundly every night.

The cool weather is putting a pep in my step so to speak. I live for busting out the warm coats, and breathing in the crisp fall air. I also love the seasonal coffee selections at Starbucks/Caribou, etc. like the "Pumpkin Spice Latte" and other such goodies. Yum, yum. I know, I know. So cheeseball, but admit it- you agree.

I'm more than pretty content right now.
