Happy Halloween! (Plus a little treat for you)

I want to take a break from the regular scheduled programming which in this case, means my Haunting story, to bring you some Halloween smiles and festiveness. As for the Haunting: Part 1 & 2, thanks for reading and for your comments! It has been harder than I thought to write this stuff down, but it feels good to finally do so. Your comments keep me going! Welcome to all the new readers who jumped in just in time for this spooky series. Part three will be coming either later this afternoon or tonight (muwhoahahahaha!).

OK so I have a treat for you all- I don't really ever post pictures of myself on the blogging internets, but just for fun, I am linking to a post from last year with me in costume. I was a snow leopard. Cue unoriginality here. But since I am not dressing up this year (stupid grad school orientation at 8:30 am November 1st) I thought it would be fun to share here.

What is everyone dressing up as??

I also wanted to share a picture of flyers hanging up in the kitchen of my workplace. This proves how flippin' cool my company is. Not only are we having a pizza party, but they are giving out cash prizes for the best costumes. The Sarah Palin flyer just made me laugh, period, especially the last line. You may have to click to zoom in on this one.

Oh, and Halloween trickery started early around here. Yesterday there was a SHOOTING 100 feet from my place of employment, and not even 30 minutes after I had been walking outside in the same exact place. Turns out this dude pulled a knife on a cop, and consequently got capped in the shoulder. Some stray rounds flew into a nearby building. Nothing like sitting in your cubicle at 9:30 and hearing gunshots on a Thursday. The town where I work is extremely upscale and such, so everyone was in an absolute uproar. I thoroughly enjoyed sipping my coffee and looking out of our 3rd story window watching the ballistics unit plotting bullet trajectories, marking the shells with neon cones, and putting up crime scene tape EVERYWHERE.

CSI, Chicago!

Have a safe and fun Halloween, everyone!

My favorite line was actually, "We don't care if you're a dude either." I cannot BELIEVE how many people have told me they're dressing up as Sarah Palin this year. It makes me cringe every time.

Then again, I'm not dressing up as anything, so who am I to judge?

I've still got work tomorrow morning at 8:00 am, only to go out again tomorrow night and then HAVE TO BE VOLUNTEERING at 5:45am on Sunday.Yes. My life sucks.

That flier is great! I wish I had thought of that.

I also wish I had thought of the Internet and then I wouldn't have been wishing about that flier because I would own the world.

It's not as big in Australia as it is in the US. Which is penal.

But I would go as either Dumbledore or Hagrid. Or a Hogwarts schoolkid.

Only because it was on TV last night.

LOL Okay I've had a few too many glasses of win and didn't follow your snow leopard link until just now - thank you so much.

When your ghost story wakes me up at night AGAIN I'll think of your snow leopard costume and I'm reasonably sure they're cancel each other out so I can sleep.

You think I'm joking...

Yeah, I didn't dress up. Which makes me a loser. I know, I know...

I think I counted at least four Sarah Palins before 8 o'clock. I remember asking my girlfriend if this was my own personal hell.

I just found your blog through your comment and I'm now waiting (somewhat) patiently for Part III of your haunting story. The last line of part II made sure I was hooked.

P. S. The pie was delicious, and didn't last an hour.
